Rodrigo Cartaxo is a Chemical Engineer graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and holds a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Innovation from the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO). His master’s dissertation, entitled “Methodology for prioritizing the national production of pharmaceuticals and medicines from the list of strategic products the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS),” received the Technical Recognition Award at the National Meeting on Innovation in Pharmaceuticals and Medicines in 2011.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of intellectual property, Rodrigo has a career marked by the publication of numerous scientific articles and book chapters, significantly contributing for the advancement of knowledge and practices in the field.

Professional Experience

Rodrigo Cartaxo has a solid professional experience in the field of intellectual property. At the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO), he held various positions, developing an in-depth expertise in intellectual property. Additionally, he has significant experience in intellectual property law firms, where he provided consulting and intellectual property management services to national and international clients. For several years, he worked at the Intellectual Property Management Department of one of the largest Brazilian mining company,  contributing to the protection and management of intellectual assets. As an active member of the Intellectual Property Committee of ANPEI, he participated in the formulation of policies and strategies for innovation and intellectual property. He was also a member of the National Institute of Science and Technology of Pharmaceuticals and Medicines (INCT-INOFAR), collaborating with research and development projects within the pharmaceutical sector.
