BPTO’s systems are unavailable since December 12, 2021 due to emergency maintenance
In order to protect the confidentiality of information received by the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (“BPTO”) through filings and requests for recordals, and to contain cyber-attacks, the BPTO has temporarily deactivated its electronic services for emergency technical adjustments. According to the BPTO, the system will be reactivated on December 14, 2021, and all deadlines expiring on December 13 and 14, 2021 will be automatically extended.
