The lawyer Marcelo Goyanes will be the chairman of the “Streaming in Brazil” panel at the Rio Music Market Conference, on September 13 (10 am). He will discuss the current status of the well-known Oi vs. Ecad litigation after the Superior Court of Justice´s decision in Special Appeal nº 1,559,264, with the possible outcomes of the case after the appeal to be decided by the Supreme Court. During the event, which will discuss trends in streaming and music platforms, the entertainment lawyer will mediate the debate among important industry players, like Sandra Gama (iMúsica), Paulo Rosa (Pro-Music – ABPD), Maria Rita Neiva FAS Advogados) and Glória Braga (ECAD).
Organized by ABMI – Brazilian Association of Independent Music, the event will also address issues such as payment of artists, alternatives for exporting Brazilian music, use of big data technology to map and segment music consumption and the soundtrack market for games. About 500 professionals and representatives of Brazilian and foreign companies will be gathered around conferences, show cases, business roundtables and workshops, from September 12 to 14 at the CRAB – Brazilian Reference Center for Crafts, in Rio de Janeiro.
