Ministry of Culture (MinC) and National Film Agency (ANCINE) Announce R$ 250 Million in New Public Calls

On November 29, ANCINE launched two new calls for proposals under the Audiovisual Sector Fund (FSA). A total of R$ 250 million will be allocated for the development and production of content for cinema, broadcast TV, pay-TV, and video on demand (VoD) platforms. The initiative aims to foster diversity, regional inclusion and representativeness in the Brazilian audiovisual sector.

The first call, totaling R$ 160 million, targets the production of fiction, animation, documentaries, variety and reality shows in both serialized and non-serialized formats, for TV and VoD. It guarantees that 40% of the funds will be allocated to projects from the North, Northeast, and Midwest regions, and 20% to projects from the South region and the states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo. Additionally, 50% of the total amount will be reserved for productions led by cis women or trans individuals in key roles, as screenwriter, director, or producer. Specific quotas are also designated for projects from companies predominantly owned by Black, Indigenous or disabled individuals. Applications can be submitted from 12/16/2024 to 04/15/2025.

The second call allocates R$ 90 million for Brazilian films intended for theatrical release. Applications will be open from 12/30/2024 to 02/28/2025, with the funds covering development and production stages of feature films.
